Among lots of other events and happenings at Old Fort Harrod State Park, on July 14 things are going to be hoping.
In the morning, there will be a Nerf Archery Tournament in the front of the fort. The one time a “kill” won’t hurt. Should prove to be lots of fun for all.
The Fort and all the park attractions will be open for touring till 5:00pm.
Finish the day off with one of the most unique community events old Harrod’s Town has seen since the visit of Daniel Boone.
At 5:30, the Greeting and Hawaiian Luau (feast) begins.
At 7:30, Hawaiian/Tahitian Drumming and Hula Show begins. Drummers/teacher from the Hawaiian island of Kauai comes all the way to Kentucky fried chicken country… I mean, to the bluegrass state of Kentucky. Joined by professional fire dancer and teachers to add some heat and excitement.
We are looking for 10 young men and 20 young ladies who are interested in volunteering to learn some hula steps and be our show dancers. You will be polished by our visiting pro dancers from Kauai a few days before the Luau. We will also be holding drumming classes during the week prior for anyone interested. Be watching this page (to the left) for dates/times/locations.
If you have never been to Hawaii or think it’s out of your reach to visit, then now is your chance to get a taste of Polynesia with very little travel.

Get the full experience. The greeting begins at 5:30 with the luau starting immediately after. Fun and entertainment during dinner. At 7:00, the amphitheater doors open for general seating for the drumming and hula show.
If you can’t make it for our Hawaiian Luau but still want to attend the Drumming/Hula Show, then the Hula Show ONLY Ticket is the option is for you.

Don’t forget Old Fort Harrod! With the purchase of one of the above tickets you can opt for a discount ticket to tour the Fort and Mansion Museum. But come early because the state park attractions close at 5:00pm

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS: In the avent of unruly weather, we will plan on moving to an indoor location. If the attendee should need to cancel, a full refund will be made up until July 1, 2019, after which only the show portion of the ticket is refundable. The luau portion of the ticket will not be refundable after July 1, 2019.
